Teluride, Colorado

This is Telluride--nestled in a valley surrounded by towering mountains. We found a campground about five miles outside the town, got the last vacant tent site, put up the tent and drove into town. After we picked up our passes for the festival we settled on a blanket to listen to the music--12 noon to 7 pm. A few showers but we had our rain jackets and an umbrella.

8:30 and we've turned in for the night. A creek runs a few feet from our camp site and we will sleep  the sound of its rippling. I can also hear a light drizzle on the tarp we strung above our tent. I'll probably have watery dreams.

The campground is called Matterhorn. We can see snow patches high up on bare rocky slopes above the treelike, but we should be comfortable tonight--foam sleeping mat, two sleeping bags beneath us and two to cover with.

Here are a few pictures from today.
